Department Feature – Recognizing Our Sales Department

Recognizing the valuable contributions of our employees is a priority for us at Altus Biologics.

Without the hard work each of you puts in every day, it would be impossible for our company to maintain a competitive edge and continue to grow.

This month we would like to recognize the excellent work of our sales department. They are responsible for creating new partnerships for our company, and their success is undeniable.

Our Sales Department focuses on:

  • Finding New Potential Physician Partners
  • Converting potential prospects into active partners
  • Finding new growth opportunities for the company

One on One With Three of Our Sales Directors

For those of you who know and work closely with our sales directors, you understand how valuable these individuals are not only for our company, but for the community as well.

We recently had the pleasure of spending some time with three of our sales directors and asked them a few questions. Here are their responses.

Q/ What is the most exciting part about your role at Altus Biologics?

Finding new opportunities for partnerships and working with prospects to help solve their problems.

Q/ What are some of your interests and hobbies outside of your career?

Spending time with my family, running, reading mostly non-fiction American history, hiking or anything outdoors

Q/ What advice would you give to your younger self?

Slow down and spend a few minutes with each person you meet to get to know them better. People like to talk about themselves, and it’s amazing what they will tell you!

Q/ If you could have dinner with one historical/influential/inspirational figure, who would it be and why?

General George Patton. I admire the bravery and discipline of anyone in the armed forces and especially someone who can lead our Army on such a large scale as World War 2.

Q/ What is your favorite inspirational quote?

“A good plan, violently executed now, is better than a perfect plan next week,” – Patton

Q/ Share any success stories or memorable moments while working at Altus.

I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone on the entire Altus team during my first year. I have been very impressed by the professionalism and dedication to helping our clients succeed.

Q/ What is the most exciting part about your role at Altus Biologics?

What is most exciting is that no two days are the same.  I am thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with my colleagues and build relationships with new prospective clients.

Q/ What are some of your interests and hobbies outside of your career?

Food science is a passion of mine.  I like to challenge myself to create new dishes and understand the science behind it.  Also, I love gardening.  I enjoy using what we grow in our vegetable and herb garden in the meals that I prepare for family and friends.

Q/ What advice would you give to your younger self?

Embrace and cherish the time that you spend with family and friends.  Be patient and take time to smell the roses.

Q/ If you could have dinner with one historical/influential/inspirational figure, who would it be and why?

I would have dinner with the founding eight fathers of our country, which include George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, Samuel Adams, and John Lay.  I would have a discussion with them about their life experience that led to them writing the documents that formed our great country, the Articles of the Confederation, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

Q/ What is your favorite inspirational quote, and why?

“Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be,” AND “Whatever you are, be a good one.”  -Abraham Lincoln

Why?  Our thoughts and work ethic are influential in creating the present and future.

Q/ Share any success stories or memorable moments while working at Altus.

There are so many memorable moments that led to my success throughout my career at Altus Biologics.  Working FSR with Mark Elliott and learning about his vision and creation of Altus Biologics.  Time spent with Clint Fowler, understanding our company financials.  The time that Brady Clark spent with me teaching me about the Altus Biologic model and assisting me with signing my first accounts.  The knowledge that I have gained from Stephen Durrett on reimbursement, fee schedules, and negotiating using the UW model.  And lastly, all of the pearls of wisdom that I have learned from my colleagues.

Q/ Share any success stories or memorable moments while working at Altus.

I had been talking to a doctor who was interested in signing with Altus. When we went on lockdown with COVID-19, he called and said there was no way he could make any moves, and it would be months before he would sign. Not two weeks later, he called back to say, let’s do it and signed. We are now helping his patients get the medicines they need and they were able to stay open throughout this pandemic.

These last months have proved challenging for everyone, yet our sales department continued to look for new partners we could help, and thanks to them, countless patients now have better access to their medications.
